The 3x3 was essential to connect an off the shelf Tripod GoPro mount (with 2x tabs) to the GoPro (also with 2x tabs).
This 3x3 or three-by-three adapter is 3D printed various processes, but the most cost effective version is from fused filament fabrication (FFF) and printed from PETG.
